Halloween Party – Kid Friendly

By: Rise Realty Group

Halloween is such a fun time of year! Not only is it fall, and the leaves are changing, the air is crisper, and the food is delicious. Halloween is fun regardless of your age, whether you’re an adult couple dressing up as Superman and Lois Lane or you’re a child dressing up as your favourite paw patrol character. COVID has challenged the norms of what Halloween was last year. Unfortunately, our kiddos couldn’t experience the trick or treating of Halloween last year. However, we will be this year and they couldn’t be more excited! That being said, decorating and getting in the spirit of Halloween is just as much fun for everyone involved. We decided to kick off our Rise Halloween with a kid friendly Halloween party that keeps everyone entertained for hours.

No Halloween party would be complete without food or candy! Of course, we had to embrace our Halloween spirit to make sure everything was on theme for the party. One of the favourites among the kids and adults were the mummy-dogs. They’re so easy to make! All you need is some hot dogs and Pillsbury crescent roles. Simply wrap the hotdog in the Pillsbury crescent roles and put in the oven to bake!

Another favourite was the witches brew punch! Another super simple recipe that is delicious and very refreshing. The only thing bad about it might be knowing to stop yourself at some point. All you need to make it is the following: pineapple juice; lime sherbet; lemon lime soda or ginger ale and lime juice. To make the witches brew, simply pour the juices into a punch bowl, add the lime sherbet, and pour the soda over top of the sherbet. Enjoy!

No Halloween party would be complete without some activities! We found these Halloween pumpkin stained glass kits. Perfect for most kids, easy to tackle on their own and kept them entertained for an hour. Each kit was from Michaels and came with everything you need including the tissue paper, except they did not come with glue. The kids would tear or cut the tissue paper and glue it onto the transparent backing piece. Once they were done, we would help them stick on the outline of the pumpkin and trim away the excess tissue paper!

After some crafts, we went outside to get some fresh air and surprised everyone with a Jack-o-Lantern pinata! We purchased it from a local artisan who made it out of a dryer vent, painted it orange and put a stem on it. Everyone got a turn hitting the Pinata! It was the perfect afternoon of fun for everyone.

We know Halloween is on a Sunday this year and it can be a bit tricky If you have younger kids. After an evening of trick-or-treating, limiting the amount of candy they eat before bed, and the sugar high that will likely follow, it can be a bit stressful.

An afternoon Halloween party is the perfect way to celebrate Halloween without losing the opportunity for some candy and fun!

From all of us at Rise Realty Group, we hope you and your family have a very safe, happy and spook-tacular Halloween this weekend!
