I’m also a proud mom to two amazing, larger-than-life boys, Lochlan and Broderick. Lochlan is an old soul with the biggest heart and a passion for every sport he can sign up for in the Brantford community. If there’s a field, rink, or court available, he’s ready to play. Broderick, on the other hand, is our spirited spark plug—full of energy and personality—yet the same boy who will stop everything to care for an animal in need. He keeps us laughing, guessing, and constantly on our toes, and life is never dull with these two around.
My husband, Chris, is my forever teammate and biggest cheerleader. He supports all of my big, bold, slightly “out-there” ideas—including my mid-life career change—and never once questions my drive to try something new. Having someone in your corner who believes in you the way he does makes all the difference.
Before this next chapter, I spent 17 years working in Correctional Services, beginning my career as a Correctional Officer in a maximum-security institution. It was a career that required resilience, strong communication, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. Those years sharpened my attention to detail, strengthened my problem-solving skills, and taught me how to remain steady and focused—even when situations around me are anything but.
